Spring is here at the Norfolk holiday Cottage

We saw the first daffodils out last week at Royal Cottage and even though snow is threatening, it feels like Spring is leaping towards us. The cottage garden will shortly be bursting with bright yellow buds and warm sunny days will be with us soon.

Although Easter is fully booked, we have availability for March and the latter half of April. If you want to get away and enjoy the peace and quiet of North North in the Spring, give us a ring, text or email for further details.

Courgettes in the Garden

Royal Cottage Courgettes
Royal Cottage courgettes
Our first courgette has now been harvested in the garden at the back of the cottage. This year we decided to grow some vegetables, instead of salad, for our guests to sample during their stay. The collection of herbs outside the back door are also ready for picking.   Why not add some mint to new potatoes to give that extra special taste?

Fresh Salad anyone?

Fresh salad at Royal Cottage Mundesley
Fresh salad at Royal Cottage Mundesley
We had an idea to supply fresh salad for our cottage guests and so have added a small raised bed with (currently) lettuce and radish ready to pick. The lettuce has done so well that it has dwarfed the raddish so they haven't done too well (lesson learned) but the lettuce has done so well we take a few back with us each week. The raised bed we made ourselves from scrap wood - an idea copied from the raised beds at the C21 Mundesley Art Gallery (we even copied the colour too - thanks Sally & Jenny!)
